Our first week of presentations is over. Three shows down, 57 to go. They were all a rush, and all equally unique in regards to the crowd, venue set up and genuine feel and flow of the presentation. But the reception from the audience seemed to all be the same. They enjoyed our trail stories and intently listened to our backpacking knowledge and advice. During our third show an untimely brain fart occurred where I completely blanked on a part of my speech about the insulating properties of down sleeping bags vs synthetic. I resorted to a little honest humor, expressing to the audience that I am a hiker not a public speaker, which broke the ice and allowed for the tension in the room and my own nervousness to dissipate. Thank you Boise, Logan and Salt Lake! We had a great time and hope you did as well.
