Moosejaw Outfitters is our host for the Boulder Colorado show. A show that went well considering that all our immediate bosses including three of our sponsor’s reps were in attendance. We were a little nervous but in the end we have to put faith in the fact that we know what we are talking about and that everyone in the audience wants us to succeed. I only say this because Becky and I are not public speakers by nature. I’ve heard a stat (I don’t know where I heard this or how accurate it is) that more people are afraid of speaking in public than are afraid of death. So if you reason this out, the majority of people would rather die than speak in front of a large audience. I know this doesn’t exactly reflect reality, but you get my point.

Four shows in I wouldn’t say I’m nervous to speak in front of an audience, but my body still has nervous reactions that I have no control over. Not all the time, but sometimes, my mouth refuses to make saliva. Resulting in my front teeth stubbornly sticking to my lips. Also at the beginning of almost every show my hands and knees have a slight tremble to them. Again I don’t feel nervous, but my body has some kind of basic physiological reaction. Some kind of fight or flight response to adrenaline. In the end, all of the shows have gone great and we have had an overwhelmingly positive response from our crowds. We’re beginning to get comfortable and really enjoy ourselves up in the spotlight.

Our next show is in Springdale Arkansas, five days away and a 16 hour car ride. We tackle the long drive in one day so we can spend Easter weekend with my sister and her family. Our younger niece ripped up the soccer field on Saturday, our older niece hacked our Get Out More Instagram page and we were able to attend Easter mass at the Indian Springs Baptist Church on Sunday. Living on the road is definitely agreeing with us!

Binge drifting is a way of life for us. Since we met in 2008, we have worked seasonally in 10 different states, driven across this amazing country of ours countless times, hiked from Mexico to Canada, bicycled from coast to coast, and traveled the world. We hope you enjoy these tales of our journey chasing adventure!
