We continued onto Buffalo NY where we jumped aboard the Maid of the Mist to witness Niagara Falls in all its glory. For me it seems completely out of place to have a mighty waterfall thundering down river and at the same time to see sky scrapers in the background. There is something off-putting to have an awe-inspiring wonder of nature so close to a structure that signifies mans dominance over nature. Feeling this way it was great to experience the falls up close and personal by being within its powerful spray. The roar of the cascading water and the blinding spray of it overwhelmed our senses and we were able to take in the falls without distraction. Depending on the direction at which the boat and in turn we were facing, the rush of the air and water made it hard to breathe. The waterfall literally took our breath away in more ways than one! Where else can you experience the raw power of Mother Nature like this? |
Entry 22 Michigan is one of only five states Becky and I had not visited before this summer, so we were excited to spend a couple of days there. But now back to the grind…that is if you can call what we do the grind! Outside of Cleveland before a show we found a couple hours to sneak away to visit Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This is also one of only five National Parks within the lower 48 states that we had not been to.
