Have you ever waited for a movie to come out because you'd read and loved the book? Or have you even just gone to a movie with high hopes because you'd heard so many good reviews about it, and despite your high expectations it fell flat? Somehow it was destined to not live up to the hype, right?
What I'm trying to get at is the fact that I had wanted to backpack through South East Asia for as long as I can remember. However, due to a long list of random and not so random life events, this destination had escaped me until now. And guess what all these high hopes and expectations got me? The TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!! I don't know what we did to deserve a near perfect adventure like this, but it must have been good.
Every puzzle piece seemed to fall into place. Every decision worked out. Every turn seemed to lead to a serendipitous moment. Exploring ancient ruins, scuba diving, snorkeling, island-hopping, jungle trekking, rock climbing, ocean kayaking, elephant riding, cooking classes, Thai kick boxing matches, cabana sleeping, curry eating, island-mopeding, temple meditating, border-crossing, mountain climbing, bamboo rafting, beach relaxing…
