Meet our sponsors!
Our sponsors are a huge part of the tour and allow us to travel across the country while sharing our backpacking knowledge. We have 18 sponsors supporting us along the road as well as the trail. These are leading brands in the outdoor gear industry and we feel lucky to represent them.
Big Agnes
Based out of Steamboat Springs Colorado, they make industry leading sleeping bags, pads, tents as well as other great outdoor gear. We’ve been in love with this brand since living in Steamboat during the 2007 and 2009 winters and also carrying their Cabin Creek sleeping bag with us all 2663 miles of the PCT. |
Buff
This is the perfect lightweight versatile piece of clothing, and now that it comes in both a insect shield and UV protection there is no reason everyone shouldn’t carry one on every outing. We’ve started carrying three between the two of us because inevitably due to cold weather or extreme sun Becky ends up stealing mine so she can have one around her head as well as neck. Get your Buff on! |
Fenix Lighting
Fenix makes remarkable durable headlamps, lanterns and flashlights. They are leaders in LED technology and make products that are rugged enough to accompany you into the backcountry or wherever adventure calls. Compact, lightweight and efficient, thats what we look for in our illumination gear and this is exactly what Fenix delivers. |
Good To-Go
Is a healthy all natural dehydrated food even possible? I use to think it was, but the catch was that you had to take the time to make and dehydrate the food yourself. Now with the introduction of Good To-Go on the market last summer I know it is possible without the hassle of making it yourself. All their flavors are great but their Thai Curry in particular is unreal!

Helinox
Outdoor adventure equipment that is stronger, lighter and more functional, that would sum up Helinox in a sentence. Their trekking poles are the lightest and most durable out there and you won’t find us on the trail without our trusty pair. At our campsite we’ll be the ones relaxing in their lightweight stylus camp chairs or lounging in their cots. |
Kovea
Since their establishment in 1982, Kovea has contributed to the creation and expansion of the outdoor and camping culture throughout the world. The durability and lightweight portable gas stoves they craft continue to evolve and inspire. For ultra-lightweight backpacking we use their Supalite Titanium stove. At under three ounces you’re not going to find a lighter or more durable stove. |
Nikwax
Your clothing and gear do a lot for you. The question is what have you done for your clothing and gear lately to help it perform better for you? Nikwax manufactures high quality cleaning and waterproof products. It’s as simple as protecting your investment by using the proper cleaning and proofing products.

Osprey
I’m not sure why anyone would invest in any other backpack brand. I say investment because like any good piece of hiking equipment you are investing not just your money but your time, comfort and in some cases your health. And a good backpack almost more than any other piece of gear is an investment. Why would you invest in anything less than the top brand with the most innovated and durable designs? And with Osprey’s All Mighty Guarantee you really have nothing to lose and everything to gain. |
PepPod
We've found that these little pods are the best way to start our day. They are a delicious energy drink full of naturally sourced vitamins and minerals with just a touch of caffeine to jump start your day, your hike or simply give you a much needed energy boost. Oh yeah!!! |
Rhino-Rack
How could we travel around this country with all this gear without Rhino-Rack’s awesome rack system and car box? The answer is we couldn’t. And when we have their SunSeeker Awning up at our campsites it’s obvious by the stares and compliments we get that we are the envy of every other camper. We love this handsomely durable yet rugged and efficient car rack company. |
Sabre
One of my favorite parts of every presentation is letting our audience test an inert Sabre Frontiersman Bear Spray. If you do come across a bear in the backcountry and your life is in immediate danger you’ll want the best bear deterrent on the market. Sabre makes this along with a line of other personal defense pepper spays. |
SAM Splint
The SAM Splint is a versatile multi use piece of safety equipment that should be included in everyones first aid kit. Built from a thin core of aluminum alloy and sandwiched between two layers of closed-cell foam, the SAM Splint can be bent into any of three simple curves, becoming extremely strong and supportive for any fractured or injured limb. It’s also incredibly lightweight, meeting a key criteria in backpacking gear. |
Sawyer
Since 1984 Sawyer products has offered the best and most technologically advanced solutions for protection against sun, bugs, water and injuries. Among their vast catalog of products their Sawyer Squeeze filter system has flatly blown our minds. It’s the lightest and most advanced technology on the market. It is extremely durable and simple backed with a lifetime warranty. |
Sierra Sage
Sierra Sage uses timeless herbal wisdom with 100% organic ingredients to produce Food for Your Skin™. There is not a product that they make that we don’t love! Everything they make is free of petroleum, chemicals and other harmful ingredients. Their Green Goo is our go-to all around salve for whatever mother nature throws our way, be it bug bite, sun burn, scrape, or chafing. Sierra Sage and Green Goo has got you covered! |
Subaru
The car of choice of outdoor enthusiasts. You’d be amazed how much gear we can fit in this bad boy. Or if you’re a fan of or own a Subaru this doesn’t amaze you at all. This is easily the nicest car Becky and I have every driven… don’t tell my trustee 2002 Nissan Sentra that is sadly parked at my parents house. |
Wrightsock
On the Pacific Crest Trail my trail name was TenderFoot due to the merciless blisters that bullied me for the first month of the trail. Wrightsock couldn’t be more of a perfect sponsor for me! They have their proven and patented Double Layer Anti-Blister System and further more offer a Blister Free Guarantee. |
Zamst
A leader in product technology and injury prevention, Zamst braces are built on a vast knowledge base in the medical field. Their mission is to support and protect the all-around athlete. Becky and I tend to have a superman complex… the fact is we are susceptible to injury just like anyone else and our Zamst braces help restore our well being and confidence while on the trail. |
